What is 6s ?

 6S is a workplace organization method that improves efficiency, safety, and cleanliness. It is widely used in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and other industries as part of Lean or Six Sigma practices.





🔹 Meaning of 6S:


The 6S stands for six steps, each starting with the letter "S":


1. Sort (à°¸ేà°µ్) – Remove unnecessary items from the workplace.



2. Set in Order (సజాà°µుà°—ా అమర్à°šà°¡ం) – Arrange items so they are easy to use and find.



3. Shine (à°¶ుà°­్à°°à°¤) – Clean the work area regularly to ensure everything stays in good condition.



4. Standardize (à°ª్à°°ాà°®ాà°£ిà°•ీà°•à°°à°£) – Set standards and schedules for regular cleaning and organizing.



5. Sustain (à°¸్à°¥ిà°°ంà°—ా à°‰ంà°šà°¡ం) – Maintain the discipline to follow these steps daily.



6. Safety (à°­à°¦్à°°à°¤) – Ensure all processes and workspaces are safe for workers.


✅ Example in a Pharma Industry:


Sort: Remove outdated chemicals and unnecessary equipment.


Set in Order: Label shelves for raw materials and tools.


Shine: Clean laboratory glassware and floors.


Standardize: Use SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for equipment storage and cleaning.


Sustain: Assign daily responsibilities to maintain order.
